“Man, the rear end feels really wiggly!”

More like collapsible leaf spring shackles.

I don’t understand how it hasn’t collapsed yet

Holy shit...is the only thing holding that up the shock tower bolts?

Props to the seller for including that pic instead of surprising whomever comes out to look at it.

Probably, but I feel that the absorber is taking more weight than the spring now.

It probably hasn’t been driven since that was done. Or maybe it has collapsed the pictures are old.

He’s a genius. Doubled his axle as bumpstops for his leaf springs.

Yeah, that should be an alarm for other things that have been shoddily done.

i dunno, those shackles seem plenty thick. should be alright.....

No, no they are not. On top of that, there is nothing to keep it from swaying.

More like sketchy DIY “lift kit” shackles. The stock ones are supposed to look something like this:

Were they intentionally building a Darwinmobile? That looks like Home Despot grade mild steel bar stock.

those shackles are AT LEAST as thick as the the spring. and the front eyelets do alot to locate the rear end. its not like the truck gets a ton of sideloading (shoved sideways). besides, there are FOUR of those bars, each as thick as the springs. should be fine. now if this thing gets took off road, and run hard, maybe a good jump or two, might have some problems......
its been done...........

The thickness of the material (looks like 3/16", maybe 1/4") is likely fine, but the bars should probably be a bit wider (it’s probably 1" or less, 1-1/4" might do) and definitely need to braced to prevent them from bending laterally.

yeah i know they are obviously much too long weak and homemade
